MK Ultimate was formed in 1994 and covers a wide range of ages and abilities, both male and female. We run a relaxed weekly practice session in Milton Keynes throughout the year, playing outdoors from April to September, and indoors from October to March.
The majority of competitive Ultimate in the UK is played at tournaments, and we try to take a team to at least two or three friendly tournaments a year. In recent years, we have played at Brighton, Sheffield, Luton, Leicester and Glastonbury. Many players in the club go to play in other competitions too, including beach tournaments in Portugal, Italy, and Spain. We even have players who have taken part in European and World championships.
We are always looking for new players, and beginners are welcome. If you are interested in coming along to a practice session, please contact info@mkultimate.com for details.
Outdoors
Our outdoor sessions run from April to September on Tuesday evenings at 6pm. We play on the pitch by the sports pavilion on the Open University campus, Walton Hall, Milton Keynes, MK7 6AA (www.open.ac.uk/maps). Each session starts with a throw-around or light training, followed by a game, which usually finishes about 8pm, or as long as the sun’s in the sky. There’s no player fee – just turn up and play.
Indoors
Our indoor sessions run from October to March on Tuesday nights from 9.30pm to 10.30pm in the main sports hall at Stantonbury Campus Leisure Centre, Milton Keynes, MK14 6BN. There is a fee to help cover the cost of the club hiring the hall: currently £3.50 for one session, or £20 for a ten session block. Your first session is free, but make sure you let us know in advance if you’d like to come along.
